ABOUT
Dr. Altabet is a licensed psychologist specializing in behavioral, developmental, and intellectual/learning disorders. Dr. Altabet provides diagnostic assessment, behavioral consultation, and/or psychotherapy services for children, adolescents, and adults of all cognitive abilities. His interests include behavioral training for parents and professionals, using a positive Behavior Support approach, and teaching emotional regulation/coping using a Cognitive Behavior Therapy approach.
Dr. Altabet earned his PhD in Clinical/School Psychology at Hofstra University in 1994 and has worked in various clinic settings for the past 20 years. He has published multiple research articles and has spoken at local, national, and international conferences. He currently lives in Greensboro, NC with his wife and two daughters, and in his free time enjoys spending time with his family, music, and sports. Prior to moving to North Carolina in November 2013, Dr. Altabet most recently served as the Clinic Director for the University of Washington Autism Center’s Tacoma Clinic.
