ABOUT
Dr. Mendelson is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at LeBauer’s Walter Reed location, specializing in developmental disabilities, especially Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). She is especially focused on early diagnosis and intervention for children, adolescents, and adults with ASD (18 months on), as well as services for individuals with ASD and their families across the lifespan. Dr. Mendelson also specializes in assessment and parent training for parents of children with developmental disabilities who are coping with associated challenging behaviors.
In addition to these services, Dr. Mendelson is also experienced in the provision of individual and couples therapy employing a combination of Cognitive-Behavioral, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness strategies for a range of challenges, both with individuals with ASD and with neurotypical individuals. Dr. Mendelson is competent in Spanish and welcomes the opportunity to provide assessment and therapeutic services to both Spanish and English-speaking clients. In her free time, Dr. Mendelson enjoys yoga, reading, and spending time with family.
