New Doctor Cares for Children and Adults in Burlington
Are you looking for a doctor who can care for the whole family? Dr. Jayce Cook, a board-certified family medicine physician, offers care for children, teens, and adults at the LeBauer Burlington Station office in Burlington, NC.
A Passion for Family Care
“I enjoy getting to know patients of all ages,” says Cook. “Having a positive impact on the health and well-being of families and individual patients is one of the reasons I chose family medicine. I enjoy helping people and was always fascinated by science, so medicine was a natural fit for a career.”
When he isn’t caring for patients, Cook enjoys spending time with his own family, which includes his wife, Emma; his son, Colson; and their Australian shepherd, Sydney. Cook also enjoys fishing, watching movies, and attending baseball games.
Roots in the Triad
For Cook, caring for patients in Burlington is a lot like coming home. He grew up in Caswell County, received his undergraduate degree from UNCG, and completed a residency in family medicine at Cone Health in Greensboro, so he knows the area well.
Cook completed medical school at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he graduated with honors. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Cook joined the Burlington office in July and is one of two new family medicine doctors at LeBauer HealthCare Burlington Station. Previously the office only treated adults.
Patient Communication is Key to Good Health
Cook believes strong doctor-patient communication is one key to good health. “Patients can really benefit from being forthright with their primary care physician,” says Cook. He recommends writing down any concerns or questions prior to your visit. Knowing all the symptoms and concerns can help doctors more accurately diagnose and treat patients. Cook also encourages patients to call or email if they have concerns between appointments.
“When patients or parents of young patients are able to talk freely to their doctor, share concerns, and ask questions, we are better able to help patients reach their goals and achieve optimal health and wellness.”
