Event Recap: Strollin’ Colon

In honor of Colon Cancer Awareness month, LeBauer HealthCare is hosting two free events in the Greensboro, NC, area this March. On Saturday, March 21, the first event, Strollin’ Colon, was held at Friendly Shopping Center to promote colon cancer prevention and to raise awareness of this prevalent disease.

The Strollin’ Colon event featured:

  • A walk-through tour of an interactive, 12-foot inflatable colon
  • Information on colon cancer prevention
  • Raffles and giveaways
  • Healthy eating cooking demonstrations
  • Onsite doctors to answer questions about colon cancer
  • Q&A with a board-certified Oncology Registered Dietitian
  • Fun activities for kids

LeBauer’s own Dr. Jacobs said of the event, “The Strollin’ Colon was a very nice event with a great turnout. The Friendly Shopping Center was a fantastic venue, and the weather was perfect. I spoke with at least 15-20 guests. Some were colon cancer survivors, and others had questions about when they personally should begin colon cancer screening.”
